1. The service
Laplace (“Laplace,” “we,” “us”) provides a hosted machine-learning workbench that profiles datasets, routes and trains models, evaluates results, and produces reports. Features vary by plan and may change as the product evolves. Some capabilities are labeled beta or advisory; see our capability matrix.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for activity under your account and for safeguarding your credentials. Organizations are responsible for the members they invite. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your region).
3. Your data and content
You retain all rights to the datasets, models, and content you upload or generate (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit Customer Content solely to operate the service for you. We do not train our own or third-party foundation models on your private Customer Content, and we do not sell it. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and, for business customers, the Data Processing Addendum.
4. Acceptable use
Your use must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate it or that create security, legal, or operational risk.
5. Plans, billing, and credits
Paid plans (Researcher $49/mo, Lab $199/mo, R&D Pro $499/mo) and usage-based credits are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Compute (including GPU) is metered and subject to per-run and monthly caps shown in your workspace. Cancellation and refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Model outputs are advisory
Laplace produces statistical models and reports. Outputs, trust scores, and explanations are decision-support, not professional advice and not guarantees of accuracy. You are responsible for validating results before relying on them, and you must not use Laplace as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions in medical, legal, financial, hiring, safety-critical, or other regulated contexts. See the disclaimers in the capability matrix.
7. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Laplace software, models we provide, and trademarks. The IP & Takedown Policy covers third-party rights and how to report infringement.
8. Third-party services
Laplace relies on subprocessors (for example, cloud compute, storage, payments, and error monitoring) listed on our Subprocessors page. Open-source models and libraries are subject to their own licenses.
9. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
You may stop using Laplace and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, or legal/security reasons. On termination, you may export your data for 30 days, after which it is deleted per our retention schedule.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-product or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
